What is the body shop for and why do people use it for Sims 2?

The body shop is an extra program used to custumise sims in the tinyest detail. But you can only use it for the sims 2.

Its so u can make personalized clothes for ur sims 2 game . Also u dont have to have it for the sims 2 .
