i think u can becoz maxis have said that you will no longer see grey no more so im guessin
you will see your neighbours house or the road or even the beach

You will see some grass area around the house, with roads, but not any neighboring houses. At least that's what the latest info (from November 2003) says, things may have changed since then, but I doubt it.

u can see da exact spaces where otha houses are meant to be, but theyre not there

Paraphrased from a usenet posting:

If you move into a house next to something (say, a big house on the corner), it won't show up when you pan around in lot view. However if you fiddle with the terrain modelling tools and then go to a neighbouring lot, your mods should appear.
