Ok I have Sims Deluxe and then when i go to install it after i type in the code thing it loads to 1% and then says COMPONENT TRANSFER ERROR and then it shuts down...

Mine keeps doing that too. Someone suggested going to the Start menu, selecting Run, searching Maxis and deleting Sims. I'm about to see if that works.
Someone else suggested it was a dirty CD. Trying to clean my CD didn't work, but then again I had no proper way to clean it.
