How do I go about making a Resaurant Podium that will work in Studio Town?

The thing is you need to categorize it. There's a program that does that called "The Sims Categorizer" and can be found here: www.simwardrobe.com

I wouldn't trust those sites, cause www.simslice.com made my sims game crash and I had to start it all over again! Took me 4 hours!
