Yes, if you've seen the aspiration related video at the begining you can see Sims, watching a video of TS1, and besides Luc said you could use your own AVI files in a caht before.

Aye, you will be able to download or make your own movies and then play them on the TV. Also, you will be able to buy games in the game for your Sims to play. I would assume that you could buy/rent movies too?
