I have a family in a lot. So far I've let them do as they please, but all of a sudden, even though 'free will' is on, they won't do anything by themselves anymore. They just stand and do nothing even if they need to go to bed or eat. Why?? How to fix??

hold down CTRL+SHIFT+C, to see a little grey box top left.

type in "move_objects on" and press enter.

Now Go into build mode and select the Sims that aren't behaving properly and delete them. Repeat for other Sims as appropriate.

Now go back into live mode and click on their face on the bar at the bottom. They will appear.

Finally, CTRL+SHIFT+C again, type "move_objects off" and press Enter.

I tried that but it didn't work. They still just stand around. Also, when they wake up, their pjs turn into normal clothes instantly. The same when they come home from work... Should I try evicting them and move them back in??

you may have a bug in your game. you should run any anti-virus software you have and look for bugs (ex:downloads that may mess up your game) if that doesn't work, than you should submit all the families you want to keep to The Sims Exchange on the official site. then re-install the game. (i know this is very, very drastic, but it's better than having an annoying family that doesn't work.) after doing that, re-download all the families you submitted. this may be a pain, especially if you have all the expansion packs like i do. be careful what you download!!good luck=)

oh yeah, i almost forgot(sorry) evicting the family probably won't work and you'll lose the way your furniture is arranged. it might work, but before you try, submit that family to the exchange, and then evict them. if it doesn't work, then download the family to replace them. you'll have the exact family, but it probably won't have any bugs.

after work if they stay still, you look in the top left corner and it probably says they are being 'at work' so cancel that. they just do that. i dont know what to do about the other times.

Does anyone else play your sims game? Maybe they shut free will off without your knowledge.
