can the kid see her or his dad or mom in the week if the mom and dad get divorced?

The "Sims" don't get divorced. Don't know about "Sims 2" as yet. They can however ask their friends to marry them even if already married (providing they have a great relationship). The other "Sims" will still live there.
There will probably arise the issue of jealously where they will end up fighting & one "Sims" will more'n'likely move out (if the relationship's not good)--providing you have that EP.

yes, when divorced the kids either live with thier mum or dad and the parent that doesnt live with them either visits or takes them to thier house 4 a while.
