I am trying to re-install sims deluxe, and when I am prompted for disc 2 and I insert it, an error message shows 'Component Transfer error', and the setup is cancelled and reverts to the desktop.

This is usually because your CD is dirty or scratched. Clean the disc(s), then try again. If the disc is scratched, you can remove small scratches using toothpaste(!). Put some of it on the shiny side of the CD, and wipe it off using a cloth from the center to the outside in straight lines. Do NOT wipe it with a circular motion! If all that fails, you can get a new CD from EA by calling tech support (the number is in the back of the installation guide or manual). You will need to pay a small fee (probably about $5) but you will get a new cd. Note that you will be asked to return the damaged one, so don't throw it away!

I've been having this problem too with Sims Deluxe. The CD is ever so lightly scratched, nothing major, and no worse than CD 1 that works fine. My specs seem fine, besides it says about having an intel pentium 2 processor, I use AMD Athlon and it says it uses DirectX 7.0, mine says i'm using 9.0. Either way i'm not having much luck here. Any ideas?

Some CD units are happy to work with scratched discs, even those that are usually beyond usual means of recovery.

Other CD units see ever so miniscle scratches and decide that they just don't want to know what's on said disc.

The headphones themselves are pretty great as well.beats by dre have crisp mids and lows. If you like the feeling of being in a movie theater then your gonna love the bass on Beats Headphones. beats by dre is a slight problem with the bass when your listening to music at an extreme volume but you wouldn't care anyways since you really dont need to listen to them that loud and trust me I listen to them at a high volume. beats by dre are not the best noise cancelling headphones but you should have no problem listening to music in a noisy environment.
