I can't installed the sims 2 i have an xp computer and it won't install at all.It does not automatically start playing i already installed the directx 9.0

Can you not execute the autorun manually?

Assumign not faulty media, put your disc in, and run setup.exe on it.

If you are positive you have everything you need for the game to run than you probably have the same problem I did. Also make sure you are not putting the dvd version of the game in a drive that can not play dvds because I did this also. After I fixed everything it still would not run any way i tried... not even by using run... Is your computer atleast making a little clatter when you put the game in? That means its trying to read the disk and this is what mine does... I leave my game in the drive for a minute or two because that is when it finally picks up and decides it wants to read the disk. I also have xp like you. It is probably something with our computers but I did not feel like gettin the game replaced so I just wait.

Yes my computer is making that clatter sound when i put the disk in.But see i just don't understand why it won't play.

You haven't even got it installed yet? That is the hardest... I had to keep trying and wait a while... I still have to wait now to play just not nearly as long. Have you tried leaving it in the drive? It might be best if you close things when you do this.

i have the same problem. i put the disk in a left it for about 10 minutes. IT STILL WON'T WORK!! :(

PLEASE HELP ME!! I am not the one asking this question, but the exact same thing happend to me!! It will not load AT ALL. And I also have another Question; I have been reading these questions and everyone is saying something about likt the 3rd disk or whatever....mine only came with one disk! Is that okay?

The one disc edition is the DVD edition.

If you don't have a DVD drive, you can't use it and the only solution is to take it back to where you bought it from and exchange it for the CD-ROM version. Or alternatively, buy a DVD drive.

I seem to have a similair problem, a few days ago I had to completely reinstall my computer 'cause of a bad case of spyware.
Sims 2 was running perfectly before that, but right now it simply won't install, no error nothing. The autorun/setup on the disc won't work either...

Can someone help me out?
