once you've downloaded a skin or object of the internet wot file do you put it in so it will run on your game??

You must put it in: my documents/ea games/sims2/downloads

Then it should run in the game

If it is a .package file you have to do what the person above me mentioned. However if it's a .sim2skin or .sim2pack file (or something like that) just double click on it and it will install automatically.
