I have a compaq presario computer. I have been trying to figure this out since I got TS2 a week after it came out. I can't seem to find a video card that will fit into my computer. If anyone knows which one I should buy, please tell me. Thanks!!

Um, how does that work then? Video cards are standard - most Compaq computer systems usually are not. What do you mean by "will fit into my computer"?

Ok. I have some kind of video card, or so I've been told. We bought an ATI Radeon but it wouldn't fit the slots in the computer. So, how do I get the T&L capable chipsets if I don't need a Video card. I'm anxious to try this game and I Get the DirectX 9.0c prompt like those on the other question above mine. I'm so lost. Maybe people like me should stick to the technology of a calculator. Thanks for your replies!

To answer boricuasims92's post: If you don't have a video card you won't be using a computer at all let alone playing anything on it.

Melissa - the ATI cards are AGP cards, they fit in a brown slot just slightly off centre towards the back of the case on your motherboard, the big square thing inside the computer that everything else is connected to. What's your Compaq Presario model number? Maybe you don't actually have an AGP slot so there's nowhere for the Radeon to go.

I have a Compaq Presario Model # S5100NX, it's a S0000 / 8000 Series Computer. We had someone look at it and he said we had a video card in it. It came with the computer. Is there something I can download to make this one work. I appreciate the help! Thanks!!

Does your computer (front and back) look like this or something very similiar to it? Click -> here <-

If so, your problem is that that system doesn't appear to have a AGP slot from the specifications posted. So you can't install your Radeon because there's no slot for it which is why it doesn't fit.

But having said that anyway, this system has onboard video so theoretically you don't need a separate card. You should be able to use Sims2 although from the specifications listed it might be a bit choppy for gameplay...
