what do people think should be the minimum age for playing the sims? is 9 too young?

Well there's nothing in the game unsuitable for a nine year old providing one keeps away from the lovely duvey stuff but will they actually understand what they're supposed to be doing...?
Could always introduce the kid to the joys of building a house; some people on Usenet find it the most interesting part.

Maxis will try and get the lowest possible age rating accepted to get more revenue

I think 9 years is just fine, but it depends from child to child. Some are positively influenced by the game, others aren't. I think you should try and see what happenes. I got my first game when I was 8 years old, and I'm just fine.

Well Im 13, And Ive Been Playing It Since I Was Bout 9/10, And I Enjoyed It! I Think 9 Is A Ok Age:)
