This happens with objects designed for certain EPs when those EPs are not installed.

Also you should be putting such objects in the Downloads folder as opposed to the Objects folder.

I have EP's Living it up, Houseparty, Hotdate and Holiday....i was very careful when downloading objects to make sure they were compatible with my EP's....This seems to be a problem for all downloaded objects except those from WDS website....they work fine....Also objects occasionally just dissapear from the game...for example a bookcase will just dissapear or a lamp...Could this be a bug?

If the objects you have are designed for Downtown/Vacation use then they won't appear in your catalogue at home. Building tools such as floors and what not are not privy to this limitation so appear at home and in the out of neighbourhood areas.

As for disappearing objects - assuming one's not gettign confused with the cutty-away wall options, this may be graphics related. If the items are still usable when they disappear (if a sim uses them autonomously for example) then they may return with a rotate.

I'm not aware of objects just disappearing from the game just like that unless for whatever reason they're EP specific and haven't been removed when going back to live mode as is the normal procedure. So I'm not sure what to suggest.

Thanx for the help everyone i appreciate it :)

I'm definatly gonna download the handler hopefully will help solve the problem....

The objects are actually just disappearing...its pretty strange cos one minute they're there the next they're gone....it seems to be a problem with a particular lamp and bookcase....think i'll try reinstalling if it doesnt stop....

Thanx again for the help :)

The SimsEraser utility should be on your CD-ROM. Failing that it's available from Maxis's site.
