People are saying their sims have to go to the hospital when they're in labor, but most babies just *pop* and are born. Do specific sims have to go to the hospital, like men?

There isn't a hospital. Noone goes to the hospital. At all. They have the baby on the 3rd day, at home. (i dunno if they can have it on community lots?)

there is no hospital the plumbob (green diamond) splits and then a sign comes up saying "there is a new baby in the family, please wait while the stork unties those extra tight knots!" and then the sign goes away and the baby is in mommy's (or daddy depending if he was abducted:P ) arms. i repeat NO HOSPITAL EVER

Maxis did say that the hospital would arive a day or so before the birth and take the mummy to be away. I think they missed that out in the actual game :|
