OK i double clik on the icon the sims2 pic comes up and then a box w/ a red X comes up saying there is an unspecified error! what can i do?

Ok... I kept getting this same error when I tried installing the game.... You probably have corrupt game files somewhere... What you want to do is un-install the game, and re-install it... another issue may be that you are on a limited account on your computer... try having an administrator log in for you... and try playing the game on their login... that's what I did... :)

The Sims 2 patch allows User mode accounts to run the game, so no more need for Admin access.

thanx i changed it to an administrative account and it has been working fine- so far!
