Will you be able to hear your sims speak in english? I just bought the game, live in NC, and find it a bit odd that the sims speak some sort of foreign language. is this normal, or did I get some wierd copy of the game?

This is normal. It is called simspeak. It is mostly just like jibberish, but if you play the game long enough, and listen to it, you can make out a couple words. So, don't worry, you didn't get a wierd copy, it is supposed to be that way. I think it makes the game kinda more fun, because you don't know what they're talking about except for the bubble above their heads. Good luck, and happy simming.

No, they don't speak in English, they speak in Simlish, which they have spoken in since TS1. Simlish is, I believe, actually a mix of a few languages.

Yeah they don't speak english, but i have them say a few english words, i've heard one say "mmm crabs" when she was tasting her spag bog (weird) and they speak simspeak. It's like they r speaking their own language in their sim country!!

they don't speak english because if they did, it would take away from the creativity of the game. This way, if they don't speak english, you can make up what their saying and make up your own story for them.
