Knowledge - Question

My deluxe edition works properly sometimes but sometimes I can't get past the start page. Windows task manager says its running but you can' see it. If you try to close it says program unresponsive. Have tried reinstalling and downloading patch.

This is usually a DirectX issue.

Any decent magazine will have a copy of DirectX on the cover CD. Reinstall it from there, or failing that there should be a copy on your Sims CD.
