my sim lives in a dorm and when i ask someone to move in with me, the task disappears! how do i get a sim to move in with me in a dorm!?!

I had that same problem. The conclusion that I came to is that no matter how many empty rooms there are, you can't have anybody move in with you while you are living in the dorms. You can use Motherlode to get more money, move out, rent a house, move in to that house, call up the sim you want to move in, and when they come over, click on Propose... move in. It works! Good luck!

u can make more rooms and they might own one of them

It is possible to play as them and control them to move into the dorms as well.
