I have all the expansion packs, but just want the Deluxe edition and SS loaded. I loaded SS, and it begins, but right when it gets to the part where the neighborhood should show up, the computer takes me back to my desktop

The same thing happened to me, I'm not exactly sure what caused it, but I think it has something to do with lack of memory on the computer. I just reinstalled the game, and it started working again, except for when I went back to the neighbourhood where it first stopped. Just don't go there, unless it was the first neighbourhood where it first stopped, then I don't suggest doing anything, because it would just be a waste of time.
