Knowledge - Question

I got Deluxe Edition for Christmas and after playing with it a little I have decided to get the Complete Edition. Is there a way I can load just the exapnsion packs from Complete edition so that it doesn't overwite the game I have done so far?

I did the same and I just installed the Complete Edition assuming Id just lose everything but I didnt! For some reason even when I uninstall the game and re-install I always have the previous game! I cant get rid of it !!!
