my sim is in his secand semester and has a pass grade on his performance bar, but i can't get the bar to go up, i'll make him do research and it won't go up a notch!

I've noticed sometimes after your Sim studies for a long time, they will keep on studying but their performance bar won't rise. Try giving your Sim a break, and return to studying later. :)

click on your sim and make them "Do Assignment" or click on the computer and "Write Term paper".
