Will there be natural disastors?

I heard that there is no weather, but could there be like earthquakes, or huges fires not like the ones in TS1 but ones that could burn down you whole house and leave nothing there.

You heard wrong!
THERE IS WEATHER THEY CAN HAVE RAIN, SUNNY, LIGHTNING, THUNDER.
If your in a hot tube and there is lightning your sim can get electurcuted.

i heard in one of the the sims 2 chats that they took the weather out because it ws raining inside the house so i am pretty sure that the weather is out for now.
